I recently took a tour at Dialogue in the Dark Singapore, the experience of being blind was pretty overwhelming cos admit it, how often do we appreciate the gift of sight? We (a group of 5) were being led by a blind guide to places like a park, city, cafe and boat ride. All in complete darkness. Your other senses are subconsciously maximised to make up for the absence of sight. We were not supposed to hold each other but rely on touching the surroundings, listening to voices and using the cane for help. For once in my life, I felt that the blind guide had sight and I didn’t.

synopsis taken from esplanade website:
It’s 1965 and everything is just about to happen. Pop, subculture, superstars, feminism, drugs, bright lights, and sex are about to rock the world like never before. Inspired by Andy Warhol’s 1965 film Kitchen, Gob Squad’s “live film”, Kitchen (You’ve Never Had it So Good) takes you on a trip back to the underground cinemas of New York City, back to where it all began.
Gob Squad reconstructs Kitchen and other Warhol films Eat, Sleep and Screen Test. How can they get it just right? How do they know if they’re going wrong? How did people dance in 1965? What did they talk about? Had feminism happened? Or was it yet to begin? The performers talk about sex, drugs and wild parties, attempt to snort lines of coffee, eat layer cake and dance. Halfway through the performance, the lines between audience and performers slowly disappear as selected audience members replace the actors one by one.

Munchkin’s curls are not easy to manage. They get into nasty tangles and when she was a baby, I had a hard time finding her appropriate hair conditioner (why don’t they make enough hair conditioner for babies?!). The only one I managed to get was from California Baby but I had to wait for it to be shipped internationally.

I swear by California Baby products but they’re not very economical. Recently I found Loreal conditioner for Kids and since she’s over 3-years-old, I thought it’s time she graduates from baby products. It’s fabulous. Now she has hair smelling like grape yakult has been spilled all over. So addictive.

My cousin’s daughter turned 1 and I liked how my aunt did the sweet deco. She has gotten pretty good doing for weddings and company functions but those are major. I like the fact that she takes the trouble to do kids’ birthday parties too.

The hut turned into a shisha den.

The “kitchen” was not too close so not interfered by BBQ smoke.

This other (photo)blog will probably be more updated when I’m not on here. More on the interest of buddies cos I won’t be back in the office for a loooooong time so won’t be connected that much. Keep me entertained there ok? Cos I’ll be easier connected via mobile in the next few days.

As I get heavier and Mister hardly being around on weekends, it is a big deal that we managed to accomplish two things last Saturday and Sunday.
1. A fruitful trip to Arab Street for Mister to find his fabric for Eid outfit.
2. Munchkin’s 1st professional haircut.
Mister insisted we go to his regular, The Hair Salon at Far East Plaza for Munchkin’s 1st professional haircut cos that’s the only salon he trusts (he’s been going there for like more than 10 years). In fact, the other Serenaide guitarboy, Remy, also got hooked to Alan’s (owner cum stylist) service after Mister’s recommendation some years back (so now you know where that typical ‘Serenaide hairstyle’ came from).
We got Munchkin’s hair layered and not exactly shortened so it’s not heavy at the bottom anymore. The top part of her hair was almost straightening out because of the weight, so now that it’s lighter, there is still a chance for new hair to curl. I’m just glad that her hair is now tangle-free and the sides no longer cover her face.
