In the Colors of the Lorax

The kids and I were pretty excited when my friend Mich gave us tickets to the preview of The Lorax which was screened yesterday. I was just thrilled to see more than how Dr Seuss ended the book. I’m one of those people who rely a lot on visuals so I wanted to see confirmation on the truffula trees being alive again and everything. And I did. Younger One was a bit noisy with excitement in the beginning, shouting and pointing to Lorax as if she was seeing him in real life (her first 3D movie). But she got really engrossed later and was quiet almost throughout. The visuals were AWESOME, surreal, Tim Burton-ish. I would think Once-ler robbed Willy Wonka’s wardrobe. And some scenes reminded me of The Truman Show. The story, pretty emotional. I want to hit the theaters again for this!

ONTD had a post on Brad walking in on Angie’s phone sex with Billy Bob and in the poll if whether it was cheating or not, I liked someone’s views.

I’m not saying one has to wait until their married or should be repressed in anyway. I just think that people, mainly girls, are kidding themselves when they listen to the general media, including ONTD, about casual sex being a positive.

I don’t have casual sex, personally, but I know a lot of girls who do and they are so screwed up emotionally. They have no self esteem, and each guy they sleep with thinking they are going to find some strength in it, ends up making them feel exponentially worse. Then, when it comes time for a woman to marry, and yes, most women, at some point want to marry, either no guy wants a used up emotional wreck or they settle for so much less than they had dreamed of before their ‘sexual revolution’ started because they don’t think they can get any better.

I’m just sayin’…let’s think before we act and let’s stop kidding ourselves. Let’s start thinking more of ourselves. Let’s start getting the things we want out of life.

Daisy

The Brangelinas are so overrated and everyone knows how cute Suri Cruise is. The one that stole my heart is Meg Ryan’s adopted daughter, Daisy.

She looks like a Japanese doll likely to rock out to Shonen Knife.

KAMI

KAMI – a Malaysian tv mini series which debuted on Sensasi channel last weekend got me visually and aurally attracted to but halfway through, the remote got hijacked by Munchkin who hogged on to her Playhouse Disney all the way (did I mention before I make a horrible disclipinarian?).

Anyway that got me settling for lesser in quality watching over youtube and apart from having to cringe at the accent on their English-speaking parts (Sazzy Falak excused cos it flows naturally on her and her character) and the stiff acting from a couple of the main casts, I say I’d definitely enjoy more of these. I love that most of my favourite Malaysian bands are on the soundtrack especially Ferns!

This toilet scene was so cute I almost believe it wasn’t scripted. They appear a lot more natural when the dialogue’s in Malay.
