Hair Wrap

I once had a hippy-crazy phase in my younger days where I fell in love with Jim Morrison and imagined myself as resurrected Pamela Courson (we share the same birthday!). During this time, I remember hanging out with a Japanese girl named Maiko who dressed like Janis Joplin. She did something to my hair which I recently found out is “Hair-wrapping”. A couple of tutorial videos on youtube and a happy volunteering model, and here’s what I got:

Lunch-time Haircut Revisited

One of the biggest reason why I waited to return to work to go for a haircut instead of any one of the days of my maternity leave is because I have to fully utilise the leave days with my kids(note to self: wahh.. now plural). My lunch hours are my ME time.. pretty much made me an anti-social at work.

.. Every now and then I fall apart

I swear by this thing. The Matriarch had always reminded me how important it is to take care of my complexion but early this year got me so tied up and tired that I only realised it was taking effect after the obvious showed up. Panic-stricken got me this product (something I had used when I was younger and had been effective) which the staff claimed have been improvised and I’m still swearing by it. Pricey but worth it!

Evil Like Drugs

Kitschy things like this I cannot resist. One glance you see it priced at 2.50 but before you know it, you’ve piled up over ten dollars worth of hairclips at the payment counter. I should stay away from accessory shops like Montip. That’s Munchkin’s head, by the way. She’s the one who needs the hairclips.

Lunch-time Haircut

Getting a minty shampoo and relaxing head massage during your work break is the thing to go for. Try doing on a blah Monday or Wednesday. Coming back to office with hair fresh from a salon makes me feel like I’m done up for an occasion. Now I feel like I should head down to the salon before I go into labour so I won’t look like I had not slept in a thousand years when I get guests. Okay, at least that’s a good point if I’m confirmed for a C-section.

Excuse my stye. I’m holding on to surgery until the baby comes out.

Munchkin’s spiral locks look perfect only in the mornings before her shower after which, it just turns into a huge mess where The Matriarch named “Rambu- Ramba”.

Shaving Down South

One of the hardest thing to do when you’re heavily pregnant is shaving down your southern region. The portable mirror becomes your best bathroom-friend but still tough to bend over when you’re hitting the more intimate areas. If only I’m not too wimpy to do a Brazilian.
